![]() ![]() I am NOT a professional reviewer, I just FREAKING LOVE TO READ! ![]() I always come on here and try to make my reviews as "professional" or "polished" as I can, but I have to face it. This is a fantastic series to read during the hot summer months (preferably at the side of a waterpark).ĭisclaimer: I received a copy of this book from the author for review. If you haven't started this series, you will want to start back at the beginning and binge all three books. I would highly recommend the Kill River trilogy to anyone who loves 1980s horror slashers movies. Roubique is back in top form in his newest novel with a story packed with retro horror goodness. If you are already a fan of the Kill River or Year of Blood series, you will definitely not be disappointed. There were a few fantastic narrative choices that caught me by surprise and raised the story from good to great. This book had the best plotting and narrative structure I've seen from him yet. In terms of his writing, Roubique continues to grow as an author. I liked that this one explored the water park from a new perspective so the plot didn't feel recycled, but instead felt like the exciting climax to the series. The plot was exciting and fresh with plenty of suspense as our main characters are, once again, thrown in mortal peril. Picking up shortly after the events in Kill River 2, this one quickly jumped into the action by the end of the brilliant prologue. Once again, Roubique delivers a solid 80s summer slasher with Kill River 3, the sequel and possible finale to the Kill River series. ![]()
